The Meeting of the Migration Issues’ Government Commission Work Group
Today the ninth meeting of the “Thematic Work Group for Consolidation of Reintegration Issues” was held at the Hotel “Courtyard Marriot” with the chairing of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees. Representatives of different government agencies, international and local non-governmental organizations discussed projects and programs supporting Georgian citizens, returning to the homeland.
The EU-Georgia Association Agreement put an obligation to support the reintegration process of the fellow citizens, returning to the homeland upon the Georgian state. From the 2015, first time in the history, the state budget will have money allocated specifically for implementation of projects, promoting reintegration of returning migrants.
The “Thematic Work Group for Consolidation of Reintegration Issues”, which is led by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees, unites 6 government agencies and was created within the framework of the Migration Issues’ Government Commission for the Migration Issues. The group will continue active work in the future to support reintegration of returnees.
